Measuring broader dimensions of value for health technologies
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is, by definition, a multi-dimensional evaluation encompassing the impact of technologies not only on clinical and economic outcomes but also on other dimensions such as organizational, ethical, and equity aspects. There is ongoing research into other dimensions of value of health technologies, which can also help technology developers and producers demonstrate where the value of their technologies lies beyond (cost-) effectiveness. We are committed to promoting methodological and applied research that supports the shift towards value-driven care that many health systems are making.
WHAT WE DO
Valued Attributes of Health Technologies
We conduct studies to elicit population preferences on relevant attributes of health technologies, products or programs, e.g., through established stated-preference approaches.
Estimating the Broader Impacts
We use innovative methods to estimate the broader impacts of health technologies across multiple domains of HTA, including and according to the perspectives of healthcare providers, payers, and society as a whole.
