Abstract:
The "Recherche des Cas Manquants" (ReCAM) project aims to enhance the detection and reporting of undiagnosed tuberculosis (TB) cases in regions of Niger with the lowest notification rates. The study will involve a detailed cost analysis of TB screening strategies in at least one of the four regions where the ReCAM project has been implemented. It will be followed by the development of a cost-effectiveness model for the implemented strategies (FOSA and VAD), which will compare TB strategies in regions where they have been implemented with comparable regions where they have not been applied. Additionally, questionnaires will be administered to healthcare personnel involved in the ReCAM project to investigate aspects related to working conditions, prevention and control measures, and the need for additional staff or incentives. The project will lead to the production of three research reports.
