Abstract

The research provided in-depth insights into the meaning and impact of aging in urban contexts, aiming to contribute to a broader and evolving discussion on the economic and managerial implications of this phenomenon. The research was structured around four main methodological phases:

  1. Literature review: Analysis of the meaning of the terms “Silver & Longevity Economy” in the European, Italian, and Milanese contexts, with a mapping of the key elements and practical applications of these paradigms.

  2. Desk and data analysis: Examination of the network of traditional services for aging in Milan (the "White Economy") to understand the dynamics of the current public and private offerings.

  3. Focus Groups and interviews: Engagement with key stakeholders and experts through Focus Groups and interviews to discuss initial findings, map current initiatives and the needs of the target population, and develop a shared vision of the impact of aging across different sectors.

  4. Systematization and proposals: Critical assessment of the findings and formulation of considerations and proposals for the development of the “Silver & Longevity Economy” system in Milan.
